Car is at Elevens paint and Fiber for paint and body work. Car is coming along nicely and should be done shortly and Im excited. The kit is already painted they still have the front fenders, rear fenders, and the car itself to paint then its done and it will be "SHOW TIME" (In my Swizz beats voice). Hey guys,

sorry it's been awhile since i've posted on the blog. My job has been taking up a great portion of my life recently.

Anyhow with the extensive traveling of my job, i was able to squeeze a free weekend and brought my car over to my 626drift friend's shop(Garage Life). As usual with every S13, everything needs to be replaced or fixed. Ray @ West covina Nissan hooked me up with some OEM belts and my friends @ PBM hooked me up with some subframe collars to tighten up the rear end.

With the help of Garage life friends and Kristian from SP engineering, we were able to finish the belts ups in 30mins, and another hour on the subframe collars.

However to my dismay, after dropping the car back down...the thick PBM collars were sitting 2-5mms away from my kazama toe rods =( .....so i guess in due time i'll have to get some version 2 toe rods from PBM to compensate with the suspension geometry of the car...anyhow, here are some pics i snapped tonight...

Hello world!

Its been about a year since my last update on my car and quite alot has changed.

I've done a couple car shows lately and won Hottest JDM @XDC remix which I was pretty excited about. I wish I had done more before, who would have known what I could have won. I was able to do a couple drift events before my wiring had fried so i thought it was time to do a complete re-vamp of things.

I decided that I would Kick the old s15 turbo to the curb in place for a new twin-scroll top mount kit. The manifold is a Future Fab TS dual wastegate setup that is compatible with a/c(which is a must in AZ) and power steering. It will be mated with a Garrett GTX3071r turbo. This is a new design by Garrett which allows quicker spool and more power thruought the power-ban and has an increase of total HP of 580 (previous 3071r is 460hp).

I've stockpiled many parts over this time period so here is a quick look into my 2011-12 s13 re-build...

So I guess now would be a good time to introduce myself and my cars. My goal with all the cars I build is to make a car that I can daily drive with as little issue's as possible and that will take all the abuse I can dish out on the track.

I started with an s13 hatch that had a ka24de with a gt3071r running about 9psi. I drifted the car at a few drag and drift events at fir and the final event I did was at pir. The car a blast to drive there, but it was slightly under powered and my clutch was slipping towards the end of the day. So when I got home I removed the engine to paint the car, and at the same time add a bodykit, upgrade the injectors from 550's to 1000cc's, upgrade my turbo manifold, ect. But unfortunatly, things spiralled out of control and I started to make a dedicated track car which is what I originally did not want.

Fast forward a couple months and I lost intrest in the s13 and I bought a silver s14. The car was an se with no sunroof, but unfortunatly was an auto/abs/leather car the was pretty wore. The stock ka was on its last leg, so I decided to put the engine and trans out of the s13 into the s14 with some upgrade. I bought an ams fuel kit, act clutch and flywheel for the rb25, street or strip concepts manifold, and some other misc parts. I eventully got the car running with some help from champa. The final outcome was 17psi from the gt3071r on a completely stock ka with the help of alot of e85.

I eventually added wheels and suspention to the car in the form of ksport coilovers and varrstoen wheels. I've been daily driving the car for a couple months now.

This past weekend I decided to drag race my car at the local imports vs. domestics event, but on the first run I spun in 1st-3rd gear and when I finally caught traction I sheared third gear off. After scott tow'd me home, I replaced the trans the next day at my work. My plans for the future are to dyno tune the car at 22psi of boost, go to the next local drift event and continue to daily drive the car.

Sorry for the long introduction, but I think that should bring everyone up to speed on whats going on with the car.

Time for and update!

Lately I have been super busy with and increased focus on school which has not allowed much time to focus on the Nissans. When available I have been working towards the final stages of both the daily drive s14 and potential track car.

As of this week we have begun the prepping process to spray the s14 street car. I have decided to add JDM Navan side skirts and Kouki rear valances. The JDM front bumper being new also needed paint so why not reshoot the entire car?.... Exactly

Before beginning the prep work I had requested Yoshi Photography snap a few pictures of the car. Without hesitation the offer was accepted and the rest was history. Yoshi went out of his way to snap pictures at such a short notice. Thank you Yoshi; be sure to call when you are ready to upgrade that KA heart attack to alive and well SR20 before race wars!

In addition to paint prep I have finally decided what color to paint the grids. Decision remains no color at all but a polished finish.

Drove clear out to Surprise, AZ to drop off the wheels for polish and have recently received and update; wheels will be done next weekend.

Soon enough the s14 will be sitting perfectly as viewed in my dreams. As regards power; I plan to replace all vacuum lines to the new push lock lines before doubling the boost pressure. Now that the car is driven regularly I have clocked 97,200 miles on the 97 240sx. Maybe I’ll have a celebration once it reaches the 100,000 mile mark.

As for the track car progress is finally underway; Daniel at Boost Junkyz has completed the custom turbo kit within one week which is sooner than I expected. We are sticking to the JDM SR platform but upgrading to the Engineered for Racing turbo from BorgWarner.

The new efr turbos’ aren’t upgrades to an existing turbo lineup; they are a completely new species from my research and understanding. Hopefully soon the track car will be drivable so I can finally hit the track.

It’s been quite some time since anyone has seen progress on the cocaine zenki so I figured it’s time to fill everyone in on what’s been going on for the past year or so. Be patient though, I haven’t given up on the car but the progress is definitely slow due to work and nearing my graduation from ASU. I decided I was tired of the slow, stock rb so I pulled the engine out December of 2009 and it’s been a crazy build process since then. I’ve got an entire room full of parts (not an exaggeration) for this build including parts from Full-Race, Garrett, TiAL, Aeromotive, RC Engineering, CP, Carrillo, Supertech and the list goes on. Most recently I decided to strip the entire engine bay of the seam sealer and stitch weld it for more rigidity. I also went ahead and cut out the tubs to fab up some new ones to allow for clearance of the new wheels I’m getting. Since the rb is such a large motor for these cars and everything is a tight fit, I’m going to have to get a little creative and do something a little different than the normal tub design….stay tuned for finished pics!!

With the summer rolling in quick and graduation right around the corner I should be getting a lot more time to work on my car. The goal is to have the build done and back on the streets by July so stay tuned…..I promise you won’t be disappointed with the finished build!!

I was tossing and turning in my bed on the brink of New Year's comtemplating how to spend my day. And then my phone went off, and it was my psuedo BF teddy (no homo) asking me.."you're not down to come to willow?". after reading the text, i tossed around for a couple more minutes before waking up and prepping my car to head down to Willow springs raceway to meet up with the 626 brothers, Chuck and Teddy (Team Mulsanne) and Nieko (Team Hammertime).

It was a fun time of messing around on the track, esp since Chuck just finished his 1JZ swap (stay tuned to OMGdrift.com for the full spread), and watching Nieko get down with some gangbangin' backward entries. It was also a pleasure to meet Andrew from OMGdrift who came to hangout and shoot some pics too..all in all an awesome day @ Willow and a good way to kick 2011 off...

As Top Flight continues to progress with it's members builds; I have spent more time building than driving this pass year. However I definitely have plans to change this soon!

Recently this winter season, I have been working hard on the s14 that I have somehow forgotten. I originally purchased my 95' S14 two years prior as a bone stock automatic vehicle. This project was however side tracked, and my once ideal "track car" was put on the back shelf momentarily while I completed my street car project which is currently running and being daily driven.

Now having my street car finished I'm able to wrench most weekends, and I'm in the midst of preparing and assembling a track worthy beast.... only time will tell, and here is my progress so far ;)

I'm planning on running the new model Garrett GTX3071r snail, accompanied with twin 38mm tial wastgates for my new setup. I'm excited to make more power and definitely looking foward to updating my build as I go along.

So I had to go back to Phoenix about 2 weekends ago to do my emissions test(smog). What a better way to spend a weekend doing emissions and watching XDC Phoenix. And to top things off, my buddy Teddy from Team Mulsanne came along for the ride too!

Being back in Phoenix, was surreal for me. With less traffic, cops, and a general sense of surbia..me and a couple of the boys rolled out to watch XDC Phoenix, and had a late night street drift session for old times sake after the event. It was good to be back. It was also awesome, to be able to share the bromance TF shares with our good friend Teddy. here are some snaps of the quick weekend trip...

Hey Guys here's a couple of updates on my build so far...I'm almost there, and hopefully my car will up and running pretty soon..see you guys on the streets.

I ended up getting my valve cover shaved. It turned out pretty nice(imo)! Then I took it over to Glendale powder coating to get coated with some candy purp! My cell phone makes it look a lil Blue : (.

While my valve cover was at powder coating I took sometime to get a couple more things checked off the list... Installed PBM HMIC, and also had John and Matt at Future Fabrication out here in AZ(they do amazing work) weld on my Tial BOV flange and -10 fitting for my IC piping. They will also be doing my tubs intake, and catch can here in the near future

Im trying to do all of this on a budget so I ran out of money and was not able to do the twinscroll setup that I wanted. So I went with the next bext thing. A tomei expreme mani, tomei elbow, and modded 2871 w/ .64ar. Still waiting for the elbow to get here once it does im going to strap everything on and the car will be off to Future Fab!! Then the motor will be pulled and engine bay will get sprayed

Had an awesome weekend last week! Vince and Ryan came to socal to visit and party! Twas an eventful weekend, however the mood was kinda dampened by mishaps and stuff breaking...however it panned out fine in the end, thanks to a select few people's help and support!

So while vince and me were test fitting my new shoes, we noticed alot of bearing grease all over the rear subframe..after further inspection we discovered that I had ripped my CV boot completely off and the bearings were pretty much exposed and ready to fall out...I probably messed it up drifting at the All star car battle event in AZ in Aug..and i'm lucky the dam axle didn't fall out from the drive back from AZ to socal..jeez!

and off course in the process of removing the wheels i find out i stripped out a couple of my kics lugs...but thank god for Denise and DK who came by to help and support with my last minute fix of a spare axle sourced out last minute by Charlie, I was able to get the car up and running to do a test&tune sesh at Willow the following morning!

My car has been down for a little over a month due to making some changes. I've always had wiring problems when it comes to the 240s I've owned. but I thought with this shell it would be different. WRONG! I bought the shell with a "fuse box relocation" (under headlights) and I thought it was all gonna be kosher, however to my dismay after hitting the track at a local drag/drift night. My car started giving problems...and started popping fuses like it was going out of style.

So in frustration of this ALWAYS happening to me I turned to a friend, Kelly Banks aka "Kbanks". So far I'm pleased with the progress he's made and can't wait to drive my car again. Here's some quick pics of the work thus far. You can also view pics at http://kamikazebottlerockets.com

With a $6K 1st prize give-away ($3K 2nd prize and $1.5K 3rd prize), the mood of competition was in the air @ Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, AZ. With drivers coming from all corners of the state as well as drifters from cali, vegas and tx coming out, it was gonna be a drift palooza of pro-am drivers and professional drivers.

And off course, I couldn't turn down an opportunity to return back to phx for the weekend to drift with all my friends and celebrate my birthday at the track! I just wanna say thanks to Trial By Fire (and staff) for co-ordinating the event, thanks to topflight bros for their support, special thanks to Maly and Bri for buying me a cake and all my az drift friends for their support and best wishes!

Trialbyfire is pleased to present the 2010 Southwest All Star Car Battle Drift Competition! This is the event to end all events. Over 14 hours of track time on one of the best tracks Arizona has to offer. We will be doing it under the lights at Firebird International Raceway on the infamous west track.

There will be 2 separate events on August 28th, 2010.

Pro-Amateur competition: We are seeking the best of the unknowns. Come prove yourself against the best grassroots drifters in the country with a top 16 style tandem competition with the largest prize purse EVER for a pro-amateur competition.

1st: $6000
2nd: $3000
3rd: $1500

We will be following the standard top 16 competition style format with a minimum 5 hours of practice before qualifying followed by tandem practice for qualified drivers then the top 16 tandem competition.

For those of you who do not want to compete but would still like to drive and get some seat time on one of our favorite tracks after the competition is over we will be opening up the track for ALL drivers of ALL still levels! Expect approximately 4 hours of open track time after the competition has ended.

Cost:
Pro-Am Competition- $175
After Comp Open Practice - $60

Rules:
Since this is a 1 time event not an entire series we will not be using our own rulebook. We will be loosely mirroring the requirements that XDC uses for their competition series. if there are ANY questions about the rules please contact us

It's humbling to read and see such people like Joon Maeng in the world of motorsports. If you watch any current FD vids held in 2010, you'll soon realize that when the Bergenholtz Racing Full Tilt RX8 comes sliding around a corner, there's nothing but smoke, and the rotary sounds bouncing of the rev-limiter..it will immediately dawn on you that the man behind the wheel of that car is a monster! yes, Joon Maeng drifts like a monster! Upon keeping up with his blog, which I highly recommend all aspiring drifters to read, it will move and inspire you! In simple words, he works hard at his daily grind, he drifts with a commited heart and he is a faithful religious man off the track...amazing! Definitely a good role model for alot of us! We sincerely hope and wish JM all the best for 2010 and the FD season up ahead!

Update> Keepin' up with Damien...building and looking ahead

It’s a long story but I’ll shorten it for the sake of less reading. Some of you may remember my Red coupe; s13sr20, 2871, cage, buckets, Power FC, all the necessary add-ons and Power! Actually most still remember the coupe as it has been motor less and whored out as it is still floating around Arizona since I departed with it. The coupe was fine and all, even perfect for a track car but ever since I sold my last s14 I always wanted another. S14 owners who actually take care and value comfort with performance know exactly what I’m talking about. There’s something about this 13 year old car and the way it sits, handles, sounds, and looks that keeps me interested in it at all times.

THE PAST

Presented with an opportunity to buy the 1997 Nissan 240sx I had to make the move. Remove the motor from the coupe leaving it a rolling chassis; I quickly sold it though losing quite a bit on the deal just to purchase the 97 shell. Some times you have to lose a little to gain a lot.

I removed all remaining components from the s14 to ensure they were properly installed; sub frames, brakes, axles, etc. Engine bay was already motor less so a little spit shine did the job.

Fast forward; I have completely reassembled the s14 and equipped the engine with the Greddy 20G bolt on kit. However, more power has always been a want/need so the 20g kit had to go. Over the past 6 months I’ve worked with different “fabricators” who helped build the custom exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and John from future fab to fix their mistakes.

Currently the car is sitting in line waiting to be tuned by Jason at ProEFI.com- ask for Adam tell him Damien sent you =)

THE PRESENT

I’m hoping to put down more power than before and do so with style.

Everyone builds for a reason; some to show off their work, others for performance, I build because it’s what I love to do. Every project allows me to learn and further my knowledge with automotives. Each build completed becomes more gangster as my knowledge has grown.

You’ll notice this car once it’s complete… It’ll be one to remember!

Update> Raymo's S14 Build Update (Part 2) ...Subframe replacement

Out with the old in with the new! After receiving my freshly powercoated silver sparkle rear subframe....I finally found some time over the weekend to finally get the original rear subframe out of my car. With the aid of a couple air tools and some dedicated wrench time, the rear subframe came out fairly easy. Thanks to a couple friends and one of my neighbors, I was able to complete the subframe swap-out by the end of the day. Anyhow, thats all for now...I'll have more pics once its installed with new adjustable arms!
